Seared Ahi Tuna Wraps with Lemon Aioli

Delightfully light and perfect for summer! We tend to eat a lot more seafood in the summer months and we are absolutely in love with this new recipe. Literally minutes to cook to medium-rare and it is absolutely bursting with a scrumptious umami flavour! Paired with super fresh, crunchy produce, these deliciously marinated ahi tuna steaks create a mouth-watering healthy summery wrap! Alternatively, ditch the wrap and you have yourself a crave-worthy salad!

What you will need:

  • 1 large Ahi Tuna
  • Wraps: lightly grilled
  • Carrots; shredded
  • Red cabbage; shredded
  • Avocado; diced
  • Cucumber; quartered

Marinade:

  • 2tbsp. Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp. Honey
  • Salt and pepper
  • ¼ tsp. Cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tbsp. Canola oil
  • 1 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Onion powder

Lemon Aioli:

  • ¼ cup Mayo
  • 1 tbsp. Lemon juice
  • ½ tsp. Garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. Sriracha 
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:

Prep Time: 1 hr  ◊  Cook Time: 3 minutes

  1. Mix all the marinating ingredients into a small bowl and whisk until combined. Place Tuna in a ziplock bag and pour in marinade. Let rest in the fridge for minimum 1 hour for maximum flavour. 
  2. When you are getting close to grilling the tuna, prep your produce and arrange in small serving bowls for people to assemble their own. 
  3. Combine the aioli ingredients into a small bowl and whisk until combined. Store in the fridge until ready to serve. 
  4. Preheat grill to 450F, grill ahi tuna for 3 minutes total. 2 minutes on the first side, flip, then grill 1 minute on the other side. Let rest for 1 minute, slice and serve!
